Utmachora

Utmachora is an exquisite beauty of nature. It is a place where nature’s wonders come alive. It is also known as Lilababhuman, and it is often referred as the ‘new Bichhakandi’. In fact, it is a hidden gem waiting to be explored. The spot is a secluded and intimate tourist place in Sylhet with a raft of white clouds over the mountains, lush green landscapes, crystal-clear water bodies and stones spread everywhere. The blue sky shadow beautifies the place. There is no crowd, no noise. It is unique opportunity for being close to nature. It provides individuals with breath taking views and a peaceful vacation from the rush of daily life.
Location and travel time of Utmachora:
Utmachora tourist place is located at the North Ronikhai Union of Companiganj upazilla of Sylhet. The best time to visit Utmachora tourist place is the rainy season, particularly from June to September.
How to go to Utmachora:
To reach Utmachora, at first you have to go to Sylhet and then, to Doyarbazar in Companiganj. It is 35 km north from Sylhet. There are CNG-powered auto rickshaws available at the city’s Amberkhana point to aid in travelling directly to Doyarbazar. There are also several types of buses available. For instance, local bus, BRTC double-decker bus and Sada pathor tourist bus. But buses usually don’t go directly to Doyarbazar, it goes up to Bholaganj. After that, you’ll have to go to Doyarbazar from Bholaganj by autorickshaw. The autorickshaw station is at the eastern entrance of Doyarbazar. If you don’t find any autorickshaw, you might need to rent a motorbike. Chorerbazar is straight eastwards from Doyarbazar, 8 km away and Utamachorha tourist place is within ten minutes walking distance from Chorerbazar. Visitors can explore Utmachora by taking leisurely walks along the water’s edge, enjoy the panoramic views of the surrounding hills, and feel the peaceful environment.
Turongchora

Turongchora is a lesser-known but one of the most beautiful tourist spots in Sylhet. Standing in front of a tranquil environment gives one a lovely impression. The water level often rises when it rains. It’s a wonderful destination for those who love nature and exploration. The area is surrounded by lush greenery and mountains, making it a perfect place for relaxation. The sound of water flowing over the stones and hills surrounding the chora is magnificent. The stream flowing from Cherapunji Hills in the neighbouring country is the source of this chora.
Location of Turongchora:
It is located at the end of North Ronikhai Union in Companiganj Upazila of Sylhet. The best time to visit Turong Chora tourist site is the monsoon season.
How to go to Turongchora:
Turangchora and Utmachara path are the same. The distance from Utmachora to Turangchora is two kilometers. The surroundings of Turangchora are quite quiet and its eye-catching beauty will easily impress anyone.
Rangpani

Rangpani is a natural tourist spot in Sylhet. The origin of Rangpani lies in the Ranghankang waterfall, which flows down from the hills of Meghalaya. The area is famous for its big stone and layered rock formations that look like miniature islands. The Rangpani river’s exceptionally clear water contributes to its natural beauty. Rangpani is an ideal tourist destination to witness the stunning silent stream of water flowing down from the rocks. This place, which has immense potential for tourism, has remained hidden from the public eye due to neglegency for years. It may be worth mentioning that many songs and special scenes of the bangali famous film were shot here. Sometimes, local people obstructs visiting to this place, but if tourists start visiting there again then Rangpani will overcome all obstacles and regain its old beauty. There’s also a Khasia village named Mokampunji near the river Rangpani. The Khasia people have been living around this river and the hills since ancient times. You can learn about the history and heritage of the Khasia people by visiting this village.
Location of Rangpani:
Rangpani is located in the Mokampunji area of Jaintapur upazila, approximately 54 kilometers from Sylhet city. Sri is a word that signifies “beautiful.” The place is so beautiful that it was given the name Sreepur. And this is the location of Rangpani, on the border of Sreepur.
How to reach Rangpani:
If you want to go to Rangpani, you must first go to Sylhet from anywhere in the country. From the Sylhet city, one can go directly to Sreepur in Jaintapur by different vehicles like bus, laguna, CNG-powered auto-rickshaw or private car through Sylhet-Tamabil road. Sreepur tea garden is 3 km from Jainta Bazar. The Rangpani river is just passing through the narrow path on the opposite side of the tea garden.
Mayaban

Mayaban is a massive water forest and signifies natural beauty. Upon entering the forest, the mind gets mesmerized by the birdsong. A fascinating boat ride takes you to the water forest and tourists will find different plants and birds as well. It is one of a kind place that would be remembered. Mayabon will give experience of amazing silence and a spectacular remaining of the natural environment. Apart from that diverse type of fishes, a wide range of plants which are distinct in appearance and majestic as well will catch the attention of the tourists. There is a huge jungle of rows and rows of trees in the deep water around Mayaban.
Location of Mayabon:
Jugirkandi Mayabon is a water forest in Gowainghat Upazila of Sylhet. It is locally named Mayabon. It is believed that this forest spread over about 1000 acres of land and is the largest wetland in Bangladesh. At least three times the size of Ratargul, Mayabon is located just 15 km from Ratargul. On the northern side of the Mayaban, the Sari and Piane rivers come together.
How to get there:
At first, one has to reach Sylhet city from anywhere. Then after crossing 37 km from Sylhet city via Sylhet-Tamabil highway from a place called Sarighat, cross another 8 km on Sarighat-Goainghat road and stop at Behra Bridge. From here you have to hire a small boat and proceed through the Bekhra canal and then you will be able to enter within ten minutes in Mayabon. Monsoon season is the best time to visit this place and of course on a rainy day.
Hakaluki Haor

Hakaluki Haor is the largest haor in Bangladesh, and as well as one of the largest freshwater wetlands in Asia. Hakaluki Haor is bounded on the west by Bhatera Hills and on the east by Patharia Madhab Hills. Currently, everyone knows about Tangua Haor and regarded as popular haor in Sylhet. But, there are several other haors located in Sylhet and these are exiting place for tourists. Hakaluki haor is one of them. The view of Hakaluki in the afternoon is one of the most magnificent scenes. This haor’s waves are just like sea and the beauty of its nature is outstanding. The haor becomes brim-full in the rainy season. This season is perfect for boat riding and full moon watching. But in the winter, the beauty of the haor increases much. A huge number of migratory birds come from neighbouring countries in this place at this time. The arrival of these migratory birds makes the haor like a paradise and it’s exciting to enjoy the sound of birds. There are several watch towers in the haor to get a view and this view is extremely wonderful.. Hakaluki is very beautiful place to hang out with family & friends.
Location:
Hakaluki haor is located in Sylhet, near the Assam-Bangladesh border. The haor occupies parts of Baralekha, Kulaura, Gopalganj, Fenchuganj, and Moulavibazar upazillas. Hakaluki haor is bounded by the Kushiara river as well as a part of the Sonai Bardal river to the north, by the Fenchuganj-Kulaura railway to the west and to the south, and by the Kulaura-Beanibazar road the east. It lies between 24°35′ N to 24°44′ N and 92°00′ E to 92°08′ E. The area of Hakaluki Haor is 20,400 hectares. According to Banglapedia, there are 238 beels in Hakaluki haor and have connection with 10 rivers.
How to get to Hakaluki Haor:
To go for Hakaluki haor, tourist can travel by train or bus. If they travel by train and they have to get down at Maijgaon railway station and from there, tourist needs to go to “Ghilasara Zero Point Boat Stand” to reach the boat stand from the railway station. But if tourists travel by bus, they would need to go to Fenchuganj bus stand or Kulaura and then they can go directly to this haor by CNG autorickshaw.
